Feeling Crafty? Try Making Scrapbook Frames!

I greatly enjoy scrapbooking, but rarely have the time needed to invest in it so…..in order to satisfy my craving to scrapbook as well as to preserve my pictures, I will often create pictures or collages of pictures in frames.  I gather the prettiest paper I can find and use it as a border for the picture or to add details and accents around the picture.  Here are some I created to give as Christmas gifts this year:

Some scrapbooking frames I made for the family

Pulling out the colors of the fall folliage with the paper I chose – purples and oranges
look so pretty together!
?I pull out the most prominent colors in the picture and tie this into the paper I choose.  I love color and patterns of all kinds…paisley, plaid, stripes, polka dots, floral…I am a pattern girl.  I actually chose to paint and distress the picture frames shown above and it looked cute if I do say so myself.  I just found some old freebie frames and transformed them.  Sometimes it is also fun to add embellishments such as stickers, buttons and on one of the pictures not shown above, I collected colorful leaves from the yard and even included some of these in the collage.  It looked awesome…I kinda wanted to keep the pictures when I was done!  This is a fun, cheap and easy was to create a great keepsake!  I think the entire project cost $6 bucks.  Have fun and get crazy creative!
