I started a little project over the weekend and it’s all done… I took a cute lamp from Ana’s room and made it “new” simply with a little paint and fabric! The lamp was already cute, but had Pooh Bear on it which was from the nursery which no longer exists so….rather than get a new lamp, I decided to redo this one. I am a “make due with what you have” kinda gal anyway.
You just need a glue gun and glue, fabric, newspaper, and trim of some sort. I spray painted the base of the lamp and let in dry. Spray painting in the cold takes much longer to dry by the way – come on spring! Then I made a pattern by wrapping newspaper around the shade and making the pattern to fit. I then took the pattern and laid it out on the underside of the fabric and traced it and cut it out. The fabric was then glued onto the shade with my handy, dandy glue gun – be sure to have enough fabric to go over the rim or it may look funny. I then glued on the trim. It is easy peasey really…the hardest part was the pattern which was a bit of a bugger! I recommend this project for anyone…no skills or expertise required! It’s also a good way to use up old pieces of fabric! Here she is:

Get crafting! What else is there to do on these long snow days at home anyway? Might as well have fun!
