Tissue Paper Pom-Poms Tutorial

Here’s what I’ve been up to…I thought I needed to beautify my spring mantel so I added some tissue paper pom-poms which are so sweet!  I had made these before for Ana’s birthday party as seen here:

?

A nice accent to any setting and I adore PINK!

Supplies Needed

a pipe cleaner or even a string will do

8-10 sheets of tissue paper (this will make one tissue paper pom pom, fewer sheets for a smaller one)

scissors

ribbon or clear thread or string for hanging pom pom

Directions

1. Stack eight sheets of 20 x 20 tissue. The Dollar Tree has packs for a buck!  Make 1 1/2-inchwide accordion folds, creasing hard with each fold.

 2. Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire or pipe cleaner as I used in half, and slip over center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shape.

3. Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.

Here’s what I made last night:

O la la!

So easy and pretty and light – great for any occassion!

Oh, and cheap, too!
These pompoms cost $1 each to make!
Yee Ha!!!

Here’s my new and improved spring mantel:

So nice and springy!  Despite the forecast for the Poconos area, I will carry on to welcome the season!  Happy spring to you!
