Dabbling With Chevron Art: The Reveal

My project is finished and it was a fun one!  This is what inspired me in the first place:

Made by Jen at Tater Tots and Jello
Love that chevron.
Here’s how it all went down:

Started with an old board form the garage…talk about using what you have!

The process went a bit like this:

Taping up the board…I didn’t have a ready-made stencil so this did take
some time and was not the most fun part.  I’m not gonna lie -  it was tedious
taping, measuring and then taping and so on.  I used painter’s tape here.

Painting the lines was much more fun!
Then I removed the tape and sanded the yellow down a little to mute the
brightness – this looked much better.
I also sanded the letters once stenciled to make them look more worn.

 Stenciling away!

I then took some burlap cord and fabric and made some cute pennants…aren’t they fun?
I am thinking I may be able to use this piece on my SUMMER mantel!

Here is the final result:

I also added some fabric flowers for some extra punch!

I’ll be linking to these great parties:
