Adorable Lamp

I found some goodies the other day …. namely a brand new $2 linen lamp shade with the plastic still on and a $1 candle stick lamp base in good working order.  Perfect.  I have poor lighting in my home and I am always on the look out for ways to improve and add some lighting.  I was also hoping to find a new lamp for the antique dresser I just finished.  So with a few touches I created this beauty…I really think it is a cutie.
Here is my before:
Nothing fancy…white…plain and simple.
Boring, really.
Ah…the possibilities!

Here is how it turned out:

With just some little details, the lamp
went from BORING to ADORABLE!

Rosettes are easy if you don’t mind some glue gun burns…I took
 the fall.

All lit up for some evening ambiance
(please excuse my unfinished walls)

I used ribbon for the trim … I really like how it came out and will be
onto lamp #2 this week.

My $3 project was well worth it!

Nice texture with simplicity…just what I was hoping for!

Buttons!

Yard sale season is beginning…what treasures will you find?

  12. Hi, I’m visiting from B.Cheniful.blogspot.com

I LOVE this idea! I just picked up some shades at a thrift store and they’re not in as great of shape as I’d hoped (they were covered in fabric). This is a great solution to covering the trouble spots. Awesome Job!

  13. that is just fabulous! i love the choice of colours, so elegant

  14. Thank for for coming by! I really like how the shade came out and it was super easy. I did a shade previously and although it looked good when done, the second I turned the light on, you could see all the dinginess. So..it looks good only when the light is off. Ironic, isn’t it? I like this much better, but do watch the shades you use as this could be an issue you face. Gook luck!

  15. SO cute!! Love it! I am visiting from The Girl Creative and I am your newest follower!
