Our family had a wonderfully relaxing vacation this summer! We typically go to Ocean City, Maryland, but this year decided to try Bethany Beach, Delaware. We LOVED it there! It was a family-friendly beach with many quaint shops and a real “small-town” feel. I don’t think we’ll be heading back to Ocean City anytime soon after being at Bethany! Here’s a slew of pictures detailing our trip:
Those little blue and red specks at the end of the ramp are my girls
making their first bee-line to the ocean upon arrival Saturday night!
Cool dip in the ocean at sunset…life is GOOD!
Ana and her cousin Ethan sharing the bubbles
My husband Chris holding Ana and our nephew Nathan and Pappap
Chris and Emma
A smiley and happy Ana!
Burying each other in the sand is fun!
A nice family picture
We played games
Buried our feet in the sand
Rode some wild water noodles in the pool
Went to an awesome Fourth-Of-July parade
But we missed the fireworks! We stayed in a condo which was in a cul-de-sac
and we got a huge rain storm on the Fourth and this is what the street outside
our place looked like with several inches of rainwater!
Water up over the curb didn’t dampen our spirits…
We just went swimming with all the neighbors!
We spent time cuddling…
and Emma even took some time to spend with the neighborhood
girls selling lemonade!
Aunt Lorrie, Mimi and Ethan were beach bums
Chris and Emma prefered riskier activities in the waves…
although they did dodge a few!
The men played in the waves
Ana played in the sand…
but Emma just loved the water!
The family in a hole they dug
Ana is much less of a risk taker and avoided the waves at all costs…especially
after being wiped out one time – here she is running away from an upcoming wave!
I think nothing is more attractive than a man who loves his kids
like my husband does!
Mimi and Pappap enjoyed the boardwalk!
At Ocean City, we saw some cool sand sculptures depicting Jesus
Ana played in the sand in some play areas
Emma loved to pose pretty for me!
Even Mommy and Daddy had a brief quiet moment together!
Mimi enjoyed time with Ethan
And did we ride the rides or what!!!
The amusement pier is a favorite of ours!
We had ice cream…
Please don’t tell my exercise instructors.
We had a blast at Frontiertown! Until the thunderstorm arrived!
Emma got some neat things while shopping
Ana just was glad to run amuck in the sand
Emma was relaxed and happy!
Miss go-with-the-flow was herself.
Ethan, Nathan and Uncle Chris allowed the girls to shop…what good
men they are…smart, too
Emma and Ana had a blast!
I loved all the quaint shops!
We had time to snuggle and love on each other all week.
Until next year Bethany…we’ll miss you.
