Vintage Desk Salvage: Another Treasure Saved From The Burn Pile!

He is a cool character this Clarence.
Just wait and see.

I had posted an ad on Freecycle looking for antique furniture people may wish to part with to restore as this is my hobby.
No bites came for awhile.
A few weeks later, a woman by the name of
Cassie contacted me with an offer of an old desk
she was going to put into the burn pile.
She thought she would check with me before she
burned it to see if I wanted it.
Smart girl.
Here’s the picture she sent:

Well, hello there.
I was instantly in love.
I knew this vintage desk needed some time and
attention and I was happy to oblige.
So…that was the before…curious about
how it came out?
What do you think about this -
Meet Cool Clarence!
Yes, I do like staging with suitcases thank you very much :o)

His hardware is so unique…doesn’t it look like a pea pod?
Intriquing.

The top sanded down so nicely…the stain is so rich!

He is cool, indeed.
Another treasure saved from the burn pile.
Now that’s wicked cool.
