Buffet Love

I discovered a cool used furniture place the other day and drove out to pick up a nice table and chair set to redo.  While there I spotted this gorgeous dresser:
Oh my.
She was a true stunner.
I say dresser, but I consider her a buffet.
A total of 12 drawers.
All wood.
Gorgeous hardware.

I couldn’t believe the deal I got.

I wasn’t sure what to do with her initially.
I let her sit in storage until I figured it out.

She waited.
And waited some more.

Sometimes inspiration doesn’t always strike right away.
My ideas are better left to marinate in my brain
for a little while sometimes.
That’s where the flame for inspiration is lit.
My friend Megan and I began to work on her.
It wasn’t until the first several coats of paint were on that
I solidified my vision for her.
That’s how I roll …
much of the time actually.

Here’s how she turned out…
please meet Voluptuous Victoria!
This lady has curves in all the right places.

That is the best Miss Mustard Seed I can do.
I sure hope Marion is pleased.
I know I am.

  15. Nice job! I clicked on your link at Cowgirl UP, because I just lugged home yesterday (with the help of my husband) a very similar piece. It still has the awful brown finish of probably 50 years ago on it, so I have been hungrily absorbing all the details of every one of these I see! I like how you did the shading and antiquing — very nice!

  16. This is gorgeous! I’m sure Miss Mustard Seed will be impressed!

  18. Hi Stacey, I’m a new follower of you blog.Great job on the dresser. I love all those curvy lines. I did one for a customer last month almost identical to yours. If you get a chance pop on over and have a looksy….It’s under French-y dresser with a lot of during pics!
