Ahhh…that special time of the year when yard sales abound. The time of year I jump out of bed, throw back my hair and put on some sweats and grab a cup of coffee and sneak out of the door while my family is still asleep. I love this time. It is as close to Mommy time as I get. Today I headed out early for just two sales, but I had a great find at each one so I was pleased. When you yard sale in Wayne County where I live, it is an adventure. You literally drive into the great wide open to where farms and fields abound and you just hope the road is marked. No joke. A wrong turn on the way to a sale can cost you gas money and valuable time. Even Mrs. Garmin gets confused. So…the first one ended up being in no-mans-land but I did find a lovely variety of fabric that will be perfect for the rag wreaths I am making for the Blessed Nest’s upcoming craft fair in May. Oh yeah…not sure I mentioned that before today to you, but it is a very busy time hustling and bustling to get things done for the show.
Fabric scraps are always on my shopping list!
I was very happy to find this amazing solid wood dresser today – it is a good quality piece that I am looking forward to recreating!
It was a great price too.
I am aiming to get it done for the show.
Today was a beautiful day so I began to work on it as it needed a few repairs.
I always have my girls milling around me when I am working. With how often they interrupt the process, I am amazed I get anything done really.
Sometimes it is easy like today…here is what Ana did to occupy herself.
Repairing and sanding this dresser was actually enjoyable.
I figured she will be all ready for her makeover when I get back from vacation (and when I get a vision for her)
I found some great chairs thrifting Friday as well…I had to do some minor repairs, but I am so excited as I know just what I want to do!
I am hoping to show you tomorrow!
And I found this fun Fabric at Joanne’s Friday as well.
I am telling you…that place is dangerous.
I am hoping to use this on a chair I am working on!
So…time to get packed and the house clean.
I leave Tuesday for my vacation! I will tell you more about who will be here guest posting tomorrow – I am so excited to share some wonderful blogging gals with you.
I am definitely taking my laptop to enjoy reading them!
Oh and thanks for the advice on the blogger issue I am having. I am still struggling with the NEW Blogger Interface, but decided to switch back to the old style.
You know, sometimes the old ways are just best :o)
