OK…moving on now…
Several weeks ago, I guest posted for Carrie of Hooked On Decorating and showed off my most recent transformation of an antique desk.  I wanted to revisit this transformation in case you missed it when I was guest posting.
We picked up this cutie at an antique shop outside of Gettysburg before we were married over 11 years ago.

I promised Chris, my husband, that I would get to redoing it.
I knew it would mean a lot to him.

So I finished it up for him…because I love him.
I am very pleased with how it came out!

How about this beautiful AFTER?

I love it!
Huge improvement!
My husband thinks so as well!

I used ASCP in Old White and the cool knobs
are from Anthropologie.
I used Antique Walnut stain from Minwax on the top.
I think it has an African feel with the style of the knobs
so I staged it with African figurines.
Quite suiting for Chris as he recently returned from
a mission trip to Kenya.
This one is named Majestic Mwamba in
which the African meaning of the name is strong.
Hope you like it too.
Thanks to Carrie for having me there and allowing me the wonderful opportunity!

  1. Thanks Stacey for the shout out! So many people loved your desk transformation over on my blog! To this day I still have the name of your desk “Majestic Mwamba” stuck in my head. haha! You did do an amazing job!

  2. This is one of your BEST redo’s of all time.

  3. Wow, love the knobs!

  4. LOVE the knobs, and the stain matched them perfect, and the animals are perfect with it too! Nice job!

  5. Still love this one! That stained wood is just gorgeous!! I love that chair too!

  6. Love the wood top on that with the white bottom. I have a drop side table that I will do in reverse, stained bottom white top, because the top is butcher block and I don’t want that look.

  14. Hi Stacy, I found you through Homemaker in Heel’s Weekend party. Such a great job you did on this desk. I love the choice you made of the white with the wood. Your husband must be so pleased. Stop by and see what kind of adventures are in the works at Quirky Vistas if you have a chance. I’d love to see you there.
