If you recall, I showed you this picture last evening of a treasure I scored purely by accident last week:
She was headed to the burn pile.
Can you believe it?
Why don’t people see what I do?
The adorable legs.
The beautiful wood.
All the character and charm in this piece?
Are they blind?
Obviously not everyone thinks like me.
Probably a good thing really.
I knew she needed a drastic change to bring out her natural beauty.
She needed some bold color.
Well, she got it.
Meet Bold Beatrice!
Isn’t she a keeper?
I used both paint and stain on her.
I used this on a recent redo as well … click HERE to find out more about this stain over paint technique.
I won these wicked cool pulls in a contest! Thanks Deny!
They are just perfect for this piece!
A little distressing and some stain goes a long way – I really
like the effect on this piece.
I love her.
I am thinking I may have to keep this one.
I am sure I can find a spot.
She would be much too difficult to part with.
I REALLY, REALLY wanted to keep her, but I simply couldn’t. Bold Beatrice is in her new home and the monies from her sale were donated to our church to help plant a church in Ethopia. A much better use don’t you think? From ashes to beauty is where she came from and
what she will be used for.
