My Latest Bedroom Makeover

I am saying latest because I do tend to change things up a bit in my house.  I like change.  What can I say?  My bedroom originally looked like this:

Then I painted it and went for a completely new look and it
came out like this:

And then I got bored.
Tired of the light pink accents and I had two hulking dressers in the room which hogged up all the room in our bedroom which was already small to start.
And…. I was feeling a little beachy.
It was time for a change.

So now we have this!
I am loving the change!

I love my new crabby pillows and my stenciled pilowcases!
Did you notice the artwork above the bed?  That was one of those ugly pictures salvaged from the Salvation Army.  Click HERE to see how I created it!

Just some stencils and some paint was used to stencil these pillowcases.  Definitely use fabric medium to soften any painting on fabric – this also allows it to be washable and I recommend that :o)
?
My fabric.com order came just in time!  I adore the crab fabric from Michael Miller!
So fitting for my theme!
This little striped dresser functions as a night stand – click HERE to see where this cutie began and how to stripe her up!
The banner and numbered pail I created myself.
I am just too frugla to buy things…I just like to make them.
I created these striped panels…the tutorial on how to create these can be found by clicking HERE.
I have a little tweaking to do on them, but I am in
love with them.
They are just perfect for my room!

This is a dresser I madeover – it was $5.
You should have seen the before!
Click HERE to see the before and how she was transformed.
This is my husband’s desk that I refinished…to see this transformation, click HERE.  I also created this subway art beachy sign…it was really rather easy..you can find out more about how to make your own by clicking HERE.

I created these frames as well.
Yep, I have a painting addiction.

I think I am going to enjoy this makeover for
a little while…
at least, until the next change.

  10. Stacey,
Love the new beachy look! Both the dressers turned out great. Also the curtains that you did is along the same line that I’m wanting to sew soon. I’d read recently someone doing their curtains like that out of sheets. When I went to town the other day, the store didn’t have the size/color sheet that I’m looking for but that was fine, I have enough other projects to keep me busy.
You did an awesome job on the whole room. :0)

  11. What a relaxing retreat! And not to be too cheesy with a pun, but it really is re-treat. Beautiful the first time and an even great treat the second time around. :) OK yeah, a little cheesy. :)

  12. Totally awesome! Great job!
