Old Door Project and My Christmas Tree

I had a great day today cleaning, decorating, playing with the kids, and taking lots of pics…days like today are so fun!  I even cooked some pork and saurkraut.  Good ol’ Lancaster County, PA fare!  It was rockin’!
I decided to dive into a project today which involved an wicked cool old paneled door that I got for FREE the other week.  I adore old doors as you can see in a past project of mine in which I created an Old Door Table
Old doors are just cool.
They are full of charm.
I was thrilled when I picked this baby up. It was just what I was hoping for.  The first thing I did was pop that door up on top of my dog’s crate and painted it in a gorgeous red color I had hand-mixed for the occassion.
Red is my decorating color of choice.
My goal was to create a pretty decorative door I could use
as a backdrop…
I painted some happy words on it.
The door knob oozes cool, too.
It is the original knob….eeeekkkkk!!!
Here is how my plan came together…
Here is my cute tree.
Notice it is bear underneath.
We are waiting on Santa Claus!
There are two gifts under there…they are for Chris and
I from the girls.
Ana made this tree this year at preschool.
This was Emma’s pics from a few moons back.
Love her hairdo!
While taking my pictures today, I found this
hanging on the tree.
I had to laugh.
I posted it just to help you feel right at home in our house.
Another ornament that has been wiht us over the years.
So my tree is nothing fancy, but it suits me fine with just a few touches of memories from the girls.
Next year, Chris has staked a claim to a tree with colored lights.
We will just have to see about that…
