My Summer Mantel

Time for a change up!  I have so much fun decorating my mantel.  I change it up every season.  This was my spring mantel:

  4. Great mantle. I love that beach sign, super cute! Really gets you in that summer mood.

  5. So fun! I love the garland, Stacey. I’m totally stealing that idea for my daughter’s baby shower decor! Also, thank you for spelling Mantel correctly!

  6. Love the fun changes to your mantle. I especially love your beach sign!

  7. So cute! I love love that burlap wreath!

  8. Stacey,
Your mantel is so cute! I noticed the wood you have behind the chevron painted barn wood – is that old wood fence? I had a couple of sections of an old fence that I used for a Love never Fails (1 Cor 13) sign for my daughter’s wedding and the leftovers I stained and made table runners for the reception for. I really like the idea of using the darker wood up on the mantel area.
    So glad you shared!

  10. Very pretty! Thanks for sharing at Bacon Time.

  11. I am also a fan of the burlap wreath, but your distressed beach sign is my favorite. Some shades of aqua are overdone, but I think you picked a unique shade.

  12. I would love to know, did you paint your brick around your fireplace? I’ve done that 3 homes ago & loved it. I painted it the same kind of a straw color as I painted the walls. In this family room I’m in now, I’m having a REALLY REALLY hard time choosing colors for the walls. I live in a 2 story traditional & the rooms are small. In the family room, which I’m now focusing on, I have very light brownish/olive couches. I got them because they were on clearance & were the right price. They’re nice looking couches, and I also have beautiful custom made black bookcases with drawers on the bottom flanking the fireplace. My media stand is not my favorite, but if I paint it, it could become my favorite!!!

I’m asking all of you to help me out with wall colors. I’ve already decided I’m painting the fireplace a creamy white. A warm white. I’m not afraid to go bold. The room has a sliding glass door & it’s facing the East. We get decent sun in the room, but its not flooded with light. I was going to go gray. I have purchased hundreds of dollars in samples, when I walk into Lowes they give each other ‘the look’. Regardless, there are grays I could do, but I want this room to POP. I want people to feel happy and cozy here. I’ve got a lot of quirky, eclectic art and it will look great in this room IF I CAN GET THE PAINT RIGHT! HELP ME PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O)
