I was able to finish up that BIG piece I told you about…
typically I like projects that are fast-moving as I enjoy seeing the finished project quickly BUT sometimes I like to work on a bigger and more time-consuming piece.
It certainly is a challenge and takes a great deal more time and patience.
I found this beautiful hutch posted on a Facebook on-line yard sale site…I was smitten.
Well, hello GORGEOUS!
It was scratched up, but in fabulous condition.
And I loved her immediately.
Did I mention that I got a fabulous deal on her?
Well, that helped the love, too.
I saw the potential in this piece the second I laid eyes on her.
I knew just what I wanted to do!
Meet Beautiful Blythe…she is a dreamboat.
I posted her last evening for sale and she found a home within hours.
I was waxing her tonight to get her ready for pick up in the morning and I was just thinking about why I love to do what I do. Why do I love to recreate unloved and ugly pieces of furniture like I do?
The reason is that I liken the process of the transformation from ugly and unwanted to beautiful as the same spiritual process that occurs when we as broken and sinful people come to know Jesus . He transforms us into a beautiful person. He takes our corrupt and sinful heart and cleans it up and makes us new.
If we allow him to.
It is the same with furniture…I enjoy taking the old and making it new.
I take dingy and dilapitated and broken furniture and make it fresh and new.
That is what Jesus Christ does for us.
And you know what?
He does it just because He loves us.
His grace and love are free.
Please Lord take my heart and renew it…make me beautiful and new.
That’s my mission.
Thank you Jesus for my new heart…I was once someone dead to sin and you made me new.
Thank you Jesus.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Have you allowed Him to transform your heart and breathe new life into you?
