I figured before summer ends, I should take some time to post pictures of the beachy decor I used in my living and dining room. I live in a townhouse (whoop whoop for townhouse living!) and our first floor has an open floor plan. The living room and dining room flow into each other actually. I love the openness and how we are so connected from room to room. Our last home had small choppy rooms in the living spaces so I greatly appreciate our current layout. We actually rent our home and we are happy to do so. Maybe I can speak a little more on the benefits of renting in another post, but for now, I will show you some of the beachy touches I added to our dining and living room areas. Excuse the wall color and wallpaper border…those are the next things to conquer on my personal to-do-list. I see much scraping and painting in the near future!
Luckily we are able to paint and make this house our home – our landlord is the best!
This is my cozy living room – my favorite part are my white slipcovered Ikea couches.I will have to tell you all about them in another post.
I adore them!
My plush rug is from Mohawk…it is incredibly soft under your feet.
I love the change! This is my favorite dresser of all.
It was one of my first real painting projects so it is quite meaningful to me.
On top of the dresser is some subway art work I painted a year or so back.
This is my wicked cool sofa table that I painted in Miss Mustard Seed’s Ironstone Milk Paint.
I love to change it up with the seasons.
This burlap wreath moves around the house depending on the season.
During the fall, it will be hung on my front door.I made it – you can make one too…click HERE to see how to do so!
This is our dining area.
The Ikea dining room table and chairs were a Craigslist find.
I don’t think I have anything new in my house…I love to find a good bargain
My husband just hung this wrought iron chandelier last week.
I found it for just $20!
Despite renting our home, I want to make this house our HOME.
I have a thing for this natural rug as well…it has the look of jute, but it is much softer on the feet – thank you Homegoods.
I love my mahogany buffet.
I got it for a song off of Craigslist.
Despite my passion of painting furniture, I like to mix up wood pieces with painted pieces in my home.
Summer decorating is fun, but fall is coming!I look forward to changing things up a bit in preparation for the season...fall is just around the corner after all.
