Sophisticated Artissimo Buffet

I know a lovely lady that just happened to be scaling down her collection of furniture…she called on me to see if I were interested in purchasing anything.
I was happy to oblige and stopped by to have a look.
This sweet buffet immediately caught my eye.
I have been doing this long enough to know just what I am looking for.
This piece was an old beauty and in pretty good shape for its age.
I was anxious to begin this transformation!

Artissimo Buffet Before - Embracing Change I chose to paint the buffet in Miss Mustard Seed’s Artissimo Milk Paint because he wanted to look sophisticated.
I think he looks simply stunning.
Classy.
How handsome is he now?

Artissimo Milk Paint Buffet - Embracing ChangeI gave the buffet a good sanding and then painted the base of the buffet in Artissimo Milk Paint.
I added Miss Mustard Seed’s Bonding Agent to the milk paint when I mixed it up as to decrease the chance of random chippiness.
I distressed him a bit and then sealed the buffet up in Miss Mustard Seed’s Hemp Oil.
I kept the gorgeous original hardware.
I sanded down the top to reveal the amazing wood and stained the top with Minwax’s Dark Walnut.
I think he is just amazing now!
A far cry from the day I picked this piece up.

My husband is itching to keep this piece.
Too bad he isn’t the one making home decor decisions ;)

He is headed up to Fresh Vintage by Amy in Strasburg and will be for sale there
for $395 as of this weekend.

  1. Stacey,
I’m just wondering how your sales of black furniture are going with white and light being so popular. I happen to love black myself! I always stress about which way to go if I am painting a piece to sell. Good luck with it’s sale this weekend, it’s lovely!
