I took a lovely drive through the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania countryside the other day to pick up two awesome dressers…
it was a fabulous drive…
Sometimes furniture pick ups are tough 😉
I scored two amazing dressers…
Despite almost an hour drive each way, it was totally worth the drive.
I was excited to get started on the tall dresser and I knew just what I wanted to do.
I must have Christmas on the brain as I was thinking GREEN.
I custom-mixed up some of my Miss Mustard Seed milk paints – I used Boxwood, Ironstone and Linen to create a fabulous new color which is best described as a spearmint green.
It was the perfect color!
I enjoyed painting this sweet and charming dresser….the texture of the wood was bumpy like alligator skin.
I love when I find that on a piece…it takes milk paint like a dream.
I painted her with two coats of my custom mixed paint (with bonding agent added too) and then distressed her.
I used Miss Mustard Seed’s Hemp Oil to seal her up.I decided to leave the natural wood top of the dresser as is as it is so lovely.
I kept her hardware as it just POPPED once I painted her up…it is just stunning.
What do you think?
Tomorrow I will tackle the smaller dresser.
Happy painting everyone!
