Adorable End Tables

You guys are going to adore these perfectly sweet little end tables I found the other day.
Aren’t these the cutest things you ever did see?!?!

End tables before - Embracing Change

Did you gasp a little?
I did the second I saw them.
They were right up my alley.
I was thrilled to find them to redo and knew they would be perfect pieces for the shop.

I originally planned to paint these in Annie Sloan’s Old White which I did, but then I noticed the dreaded pinking of the white paint.
With these older pieces, sometimes that happens as a result of the stain which has been used on the wood bleeding through the paint.  The best solution for this issue is to seal up the furniture with a coat or two of shellac to seal up the stain and preventing bleed through, but I just wasn’t feeling the white as it was so I opted to try a whole new color.
I painted with Annie Sloan’s Duck Egg over the Old White.
I used pure white on the drawers.
I wanted a two tone look and hoped to highlight those amazing little drawers and their great hardware.

I distressed them all over and the Old White showed through so nicely.
I sealed them up in Clear Wax.
My mishap turned out for the good and I liked the look I got.
I decided to just embrace it.

Honestly, redoing furniture is just one big learning curve.
If you make a mistake, you just have to roll with it and try to work with what you have.
That’s how you learn.
Trial and error.
You can’t let that stop you.
You learn to try new things and think on your feet.
It is surely a challenge!

I was happy with the look we ended up with… how cute are they now?
