I jumped on this piece immediately.
I adore these little antique chests as much as I love chocolate…and that is an awful lot.
She sat for a bit in my garage as I awaited the release of Miss Mustard Seed’s New European Line of milk paint colors.
I was anxious to try a gorgeous color called Bergere.
I was also inspired by this piece from the talented Miss Mustard Seed.
Her Mora dresser inspired me.
I loved her handpainting on the drawer fronts and wanted to try the same look.
So I painted her up in Bergere…I immediately loved the color.
It went on like butter.
I was already in love!
Occasionally I hand paint a piece..I find the best way to do this is to first draw out the design with a piece of white chalk.
I paint right on top of the chalk and the residual chalk lines just wipe away later.
I painted on top of my sketches with Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Ironstone.
I distressed the entire piece and then added some adorable white milk glass knobs from D. Lawless Hardware.
I sealed up the entire piece with Miss Mustard Seed’s Hemp Oil when all was done.
She has a sweet cottage look.
I am pleased with how cute she is now!
She is for sale at Fresh Vintage by Amy in Strasburg for $275 if you are interested…message me for more information!
