I have a friend that lives a few hours away from me. We used to live in the same town, but I have since moved. She is the sweetest gal you have ever met. She was actually my oldest daughter’s 3rd grade teacher
back in the day.
She is so GOOD at what she does…my daughter was blessed to have her in class as she really thrived there.
I have been more than happy over the years to paint a few pieces up for her.
A few months back, she messaged me and asked me to assist her in finding the perfect dresser for her daughter.
Well, we hunted and found one that would be perfect for her Amelia.
The sweetest empire dresser you ever did see!
She wanted the dresser painted black with distressing and pink cut-glass knobs.
She also asked if I could paint up this sweet end table as well – apparently it used to be her Father’s and it had sentimental value to her.
She also asked if I could line the drawers with pretty fabric.
Sure thing Amy…anything for you my dear!
I painted up both pieces in Valspar’s Cracked Pepper and distressed them all over careful to highlight all the cool details. I sealed up both pieces in Clear Wax buffed to a nice sheen.
I added some amazing pink cut-glass knobs from D. Lawless Hardware on the empire dresser – I think they COMPLETELY MADE IT soooooo beautiful!
I wasn’t sure about the black and pink combo when Amy proposed it, but I confess when the dresser was finished, I was smitten with it.
What do you think about it now? Are you loving it, too?
How about that pink and black combo?
It’s a winner, right?
I hope Amelia loves her new bedroom pieces…I know I sure do
