This dresser caught my eye when I spotted her.
She beckoned me from across the room.
This girl has PRESENCE.
My apologies for the lack of a before picture…I think I was pretty excited to get started and just jumped right in!
Her mirror was just a frame as the mirror had been broken in the past.
The frame was gorgeous though.
I wasn’t certain if I wanted to incur the cost of having a new mirror recut.
I hemmed and hawed a bit, but knew I just HAD to do it.
I am in the business of restoring old beautiful pieces and this was no exception.
I decided the extra cost was completely worth it.
So off I went to my favorite glass place to have a new mirror cut.
Once I got it back and saw the piece in its entirety, I knew it was a good call.
It was just stunning.
I painted the dresser and mirror in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk paint in Typewriter – such a gorgeous black!
I added the Bonding Agent in that mix as I wanted to avoid chipping.
My goal was a smooth finish with a lovely sheen.
I distressed it a bit and then waxed the piece with Miss Mustard Seed’s Furniture Wax.
The wax is so soft and supple and just give the piece a great finish.
Isn’t she sophisticated?
I adore her.
Yup, she’s pretty.
Now go and wipe that drool off your chin
