Shutter Grey Highboy Makeover

A follower from my Facebook page just remarked that I find the best furniture.
I think she’s right!
It’s a competitive market around here as there are lots of painters vying for the same pieces though which is frustrating.
I was more than happy to score this stately beauty!
Isn’t she gorgeous??

Shutter Grey Highboy Before - Embracing Change

I had been waiting for the perfect piece to use one of my favorite milk paint colors on…
I knew I had found the right one once I brought her home.
I painted her in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Shutter Grey … it is a soft blue-grey that can act as a chameleon in different lighting.
Sometimes it appears more grey…sometimes more blue…
It’s kinda fun for that reason.
Plus it feels like a neutral with just a little brush of color.

I mixed up my paint with the bonding agent this time as I wanted my finish to look smooth.
I soft sanded and distressed her once she was painted…the milk paint finishes up very smooth and silky this way and I love that.
I sealed up her gorgeousness in Miss Mustard Seed’s Hemp Oil.

She’s is pretty amazing!

If you are interested in purchasing her, she is available at Blue Dandelion by Tiffany in quaint Strasburg, PA.
I sell a few of my pieces there if you are ever in the area.
They also sell Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint and products so you can try out milk-paint for yourself!
Certainly a stop I would recommend making!
