I couldn’t believe I was able to easily snag this stunning buffet.
I found it posted for sale on a Facebook sale site and it was there a day or two before I sent over a message to the seller.
I couldn’t believe no one got to it before me!
I took my Mom to help me pick it up…not that she actually helps me load pieces as she probably 85 pounds, BUT her company is nice.
She’s so supportive of my love for painting furniture…such a great cheerleader.
When I saw it in person for the first time, I sort of cringed.
She was even more lovely than in the picture ….in fact, so lovely that I wondered if I could paint it!
I hate when that thought comes into my mind.
It kinda wrecks me and makes me feel incredibly indecisive about my vision for the piece.
So…I certainly bought it, but I didn’t commit to painting it up for a few weeks until I figured out what I would do.
Indecision is the worst!
In the end, I figured paint on a beautiful piece would just make it even more beautiful…I think I was right!
I used Miss Mustard Seed’s Schloss with lots of Bonding Agent added to the mix…this buffet was pretty glossy so a little sanding to prep it and bonding agent was in order.
I just love the schloss with the warm wood peeking through under the distressing.
This warm greige is one of my favorite milk paint colors!
A Hemp Oil finish and she was ready to go.
She came out so lovely …
I am glad I decided to paint her after all
