I don’t come across FREE furniture often anymore…especially where I live. If anything is listed as FREE, people snatch it right up.
Plus furniture flipping has become a HUGE market for pretty much everyone.
I really can’t stand that, yet it is what it is.
I saw this very lovely china cabinet posted on a Facebook sale site and I responded lickety split.
I really thought I wouldn’t have a shot at it.
I was THRILLED when I found out I was the first one that had expressed interest.
Sheer luck…and good timing.
Isn’t she pretty?
I wanted to go farmhouse with her…think white with different hardware and a painted inside.
This gal was going to encounter a BIG transformation to get rid of that orangey wood!
I used Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint in Pure White with Annie Sloan’s Clear Wax to seal her up once I generously distressed her.
The inside was a PAIN to paint, but I needed to do it no matter how much I tried to avoid it.
And believe me…I tried.
I used a mix of some of the grey paints I had in my stash.
I think the updates made ALL the difference!
She is a stunner.
She took A TON OF WORK and A LONG TIME, but her gorgeous outcome made it all worthwhile.
She sold immediately.
That sure makes a girl feel good 🙂
