Happy Saturday to you!
I am not really doing much blogging these days as we move in 30 days, but I wanted to pop in with a little furniture makeover for you.
I cannot WAIT to get moved and back into some sort of normalcy I tell you!
Packing and cleaning out is not too much fun.
Plus…did I tell you that our new home has a large shed that I plan to make my workshop???
I cannot wait!
In the meantime, let me share a little furniture makeover with you…
It’s hard to tell by these pictures, but this tall chest was GINORMOUS.
Heavy and large…I managed to fit it into my Jeep with some help, but my, it is a BIG one.
A gal messaged me telling me she was planning to sell it and wondered if I wanted a first crack at it as she was familiar with my work…FREE.
Well, FREE is my favorite price so I made a plan to pick it up as soon as I could.
I was flattered she thought of me!
I was truly THRILLED!
I liked the lines and how much room it had.
I also really liked the original hardware.
I thought it needed to be a deep color…this chest definitely said tall, dark and handsome to me 🙂
I did some prep work on this BIG guy by doing some sanding with a coarse grit pad…I wanted to rough it up a bit as I planned to use milk paint and milk paint needs some TOOTH to adhere well.
I wanted to paint to stick and not chip on this one…smooth and sleek is the look I was after.
I mixed up Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Typewriter and added a nice amount of Miss Mustard Seed’s Bonding Agent.
I painted this handsome chest in three coats of milk paint then distressed it to highlight the edges and sealed it up in Miss Mustard Seed’s Furniture Wax.
The hardware was fantastic so I let that be.
He was finished up lickety split!
Isn’t it seriously good looking???
He’s a stunner.
A little paint made all the difference!
Catch you later…my daughter’s 13th birthday is TODAY!
Lots to celebrate and much to do to pack and move!
Have a great weekend!
