I loved this dresser the moment I laid eyes on her!
She is quite the awesome antique beauty – she even had a perfect mirror.
She had been stashed away in an elderly woman’s top floor apartment in the city left to her lonesome.
I was pretty happy to find her and despite having to carry her down three flights of quite steep and narrow steps, she made it home unscathed (thanks Honey 😉
She was a piece I knew had to be done in white.
And I don’t use white on every dresser.
Just certain ones.
I love white, but I love lots of other colors too 🙂
I chose to use a custom mix of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Farmhouse White and Grainsack – I don’t really precisely measure when mixing paint, but I would guess there was about 75% Farmhouse White in the mix.
I did use the Extra Bond in the mix.
I distressed her and then sealed her up in Miss Mustard Seed’s Hemp Oil.
I wanted to try to keep some parts of her natural wood for something different. Those natural parts on the legs and harp were prettied up with Hemp Oil as well.
I really love her new, updated look!
She’s one pretty dresser 🙂
