Oh my goodness.
May is CRAZY!
My apologies for being fairly absent on my blog other than our creative sharing parties.
I am on survival mode this month!
I work as a teacher’s aide at a local elementary school and this time of year is pretty insane with special activities almost daily not to mention getting my own kids through the year in addition to sports, ministry, and home projects.
I am just too anxious to wait until the summer begins and I am a little crazy myself so I decided to makeover my living room this month, too.
Why the heck not???
We moved into our home on the last day of July 2017 and then threw ourselves right into work and the school year three weeks later so there was no time to do anything in our new home let alone paint.
I actually still have unpacking to do in the basement yet to be honest.
Here is the before of my living room:
It’s fairly undressed, but you get the idea of the paint color that was on the walls when we moved in.
It was not a color (Peristyle Brass is the name) I would have chosen, but we grew to really like it once we settled in.
My desire was to really neutralize this room and make it feel more light and airy.
My hope is to stay in the cream, grey, white and black zone in this room.
I hemmed and hawed to find just the color I wanted … a cream that wasn’t too yellow, too tan or one with a pink undertone.
It was tedious to say the least, but after much ado, I settled upon a color I really liked.
I chose Antique White by Sherwin-Williams and purchased a gallon of the paint and primer variety.
I think it was just the right cream – it is so soothing and bright now in that room and I just LOVE it!
Here are some initial pictures, but I am yet to hang wall art and put on some new throw pillows (basically have fun with it!)
I will show more pictures later once I have it like I want, but for now, that’ll do.
This summer holds much more – refinishing the deck, painting the kitchen cabinets and repainting the kitchen and adding a planked wall.
One project always leads to more you know 😉
What is on your summer to-do list?
Are you overly ambitious like me?
