I jumped on this piece as soon as I saw it posted for sale on a Facebook sale site.
I don’t usually go for the previously painted pieces, but I just liked the shape and size of this old gal.
I could envision this sloppily painted boring buffet made over into something very beautiful.
The lower legs of the buffet had been chewed by a puppy so I had to spend some time filling those damaged legs with wood filler and sanding them out before painting which was a big improvement fro where we began.
I knew she had imperfections, but I loved her anyway!
It just so happened that I had a client who was searching for a buffet!
I sent her this picture and she was all IN!
So…after considering many colors, she decided upon a deep, rich grey.
We went with a color by Amy Howard One Step Paint called “A Good Man is Hard to Find” – honestly that’s the name.
I couldn’t make this stuff up.
This was my first time using Amy Howard products and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked them.
I wanted a chalk paint as I needed to paint over a previously painted piece so this was a great choice!
I distressed her which revealed the white below and I really love how she came out!
A little clear wax and she was all done.
I did add some gorgeous cut glass knobs from D. Lawless Hardware as those frog pulls weren’t doing it for me.
I adore it now!
It’s smoky and sophisticated!
Isn’t she lovely!
It’s a true BEAST to BEAUTY makeover:)
