I spotted this big, beautiful buffet for sale on a sale site…
shopping on-line is both a challenge and a blessing!
I was pretty happy to have found it.
She was pretty lackluster as is, but I saw her potential right away!
Or would you have passed her by?
I wanted to paint with COLOR on this one!
I had been painting in whites, blacks and greys a lot this summer and I needed COLOR!
So….I decided to go BLUE.
I used to work with blue quite a bit, but over the years I’ve gotten away from it a bit.
I needed to get back.
So I mixed some of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint using mostly French Enamel with a spoonful of Artissimo to add some depth.
I like to mix up colors and create bespoke blends…it’s so fun!
I did sand this buffet with a medium grit sanding block all over to prep it for paint….although I only used a bit of MMS Bonding Agent as I was just about out.
I hoped for the best 😉
I painted on 3-4 coats of paint and then soft sanded the entire piece and distressed all the edges. I finished the piece with Miss Mustard Seed’s Furniture Wax.
I just LOVE that wax but the way – it’s so supple and it leaves a great finish – plus it just smells nice.
I think blue is her color.
Isn’t she amazing?
I knew she was going to be BEAUTIUL.
She’s available for purchase if you are local to the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area…message me for more information!
