Custom Order Dining Set

michelle table 2- ec

I found this gorgeous antique pedestal table in my travels. I really didn't WANT to do a dining set, but how could I turn this beauty down? I really LOVED it. It was a special piece that I had to have! So....the consideration for the next steps on it began...find four chairs? Or redo and sell as it? I don't do full dining sets often as I simply don't have the space in my tight two car garage … [Read more...]

Teal Beauty

teal dresser 1 - EC

When I spotted this dresser posted for sale, I was intrigued. I thought it had great potential despite its obvious veneer issues. I figured that could be fixed. The details were too cool to pass it up! I had to drive a bit to pick her up...about 45 minutes one way. Pickins are a little slim over the winter months and often necessitate a drive. A little road trip with my mom - coffee and good … [Read more...]

Old White Server

Old White Server 1 - EC

Oh man. I wish I had remembered to take a before picture! It is usually the first thing I do when I bring a piece home right after I unload it from my Jeep, but I must have forgotten this time. Boo. I hope you can still appreciate this makeover anyway. Just imagine a boring brown server. Blah. She needed a little sprucin' up for sure!  How about this? So pretty now! A little bit of … [Read more...]

Sweet Dresser in Blue

jesus dresser before

I apologize for the poor picture, but sadly it s the best one that I have. This dresser was so pretty from the start - a furniture connection of mine was selling it and immediately it caught my eye. I loved the legs, the three large drawers and the gorgeous mirror. I envisioned her in a light blue...I chose to paint her in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Provence - it is the perfect shade of soft … [Read more...]

French Linen Server

FL server 1 - EC

I love this sweet server piece I purchased the other day. It is just the perfect size for so many things. I was anxious to paint it up. I was set on a neutral color...I always try to envision where in their home people may place a piece before I paint it. I am practical by nature...it's true. My earlier redos were a little more bold...maybe even ugly...I have toned it down quite a bit as of … [Read more...]

Paris Grey Vanity Makeover

paris grey vanity 1 - EC

I had to drive a good 45 minutes one way to pick up this sweet vanity...but I think it was worth it. Isn't she darling??? I couldn't resist her charm. I painted her up in Annie Sloan's Paris Grey and distressed her all over. I sealed up the entire piece in Annie Sloan's Clear Wax and buffed it to a nice sheen when I was finished. I added some seriously adorable polka dotted knobs to top it … [Read more...]

Green Empire Dresser

Green Waxed Dresser 6 - EC

I found the cutest dresser on Craigslist the other day...gotta love that site! I thought by the picture this would be an easy makeover...I loved this empire dresser and the lines on it. Seemed easy...right? That's how it seems anyway...until you pick it up and see it in person. You have to understand...pictures can be very deceiving. I am the first to admit that. When I picked this sweet … [Read more...]

A friend actually spotted this dresser for me and sent me a picture to see if I was interested. Well, of course I was. She had no trouble seeing that is was JUST my style. A Cottage Server: The Transformation

White Server BEFORE - round 2 - EC

I was contacted by a sweet woman named Janet about some pieces that she was interested in having custom painted. The first piece was a Duncan Phyfe dropleaf table and the second was an adorable antique server that had been in her family for as long as she could remember. Her Father originally had purchased it for the family and in subsequent years, she chose to use it as her children's changing … [Read more...]
