Tall Chest in Typewriter

Hi friends! Happy Saturday to you! I am not really doing much blogging these days as we move in 30 days, but I wanted to pop in with a little furniture makeover for you. I cannot WAIT to get moved and back into some sort of normalcy I tell you! Packing and cleaning out is not too much fun. Plus...did I tell you that our new home has a large shed that I plan to make my workshop??? OH YEAH! I … [Read more...]

Old White Stunner

I had to make an hour drive one way for this beauty. I don't mind driving, but not knowing what you might find once you get there can be unnerving. You just hope it will be worth the trip. It's a gamble. Once I got where I was going I realized that I had made a good decision as this art deco era dresser was wicked cool. I don't think I have ever seen one quite so detailed! Check out all … [Read more...]

Handsome Empire Dresser in Artissimo

Oh my goodness. When I saw this dresser posted on Craigslist, I fell in love quickly! Such a stately and handsome dresser and the mirror was spectacular. I made an offer a bit lower than the asking price and sent it of hoping for the best. I always stay within my specified furniture budget when shopping for pieces and I rarely allow myself to go above and beyond so often that means I make … [Read more...]

Cottage Dresser in Arles

I spotted this adorable little dresser on a Facebook sale site and I was immediately drawn in. She was so perfectly cute and the wood was in such nice shape. I had her delivered without having gone to check her out first which is always risky, but I was not disappointed. I had to secure one spot that had gotten loose over the years, but she was a fantastic petite dresser - so charming! I … [Read more...]

Antoinette Sweetheart

This dresser was just TOO cute not to buy and makeover. Sweet, simple, practical. Those are good features to have now aren't they? I wanted to keep her soft and sweet so I panted this cute dresser in Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Antoinette which is the softest and most lovely pink. After distressing, I sealed up the dresser in Annie Sloan's Clear Wax. I added some beautiful sparkly knobs … [Read more...]

Cheerful Dresser in Arles

Alas another piece I made over that I was so eager to get started with that I forgot to take a before picture! Please don't throw tomatoes at me...surely I make mistakes like this all the time. I confess I was very eager to try out some yellow paint. I was feeling YELLOW. Sometimes I feel in color ;) I painted up this adorable dresser with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Arles...a color I have … [Read more...]

Precious Old White Dresser Makeover

I am so giddy when I find great pieces to paint! When I found this pretty dresser, I was pretty happy and got to working right away. The lady I purchased her from is someone I have bought from many times before. Her family does auctions and estate clean outs and she has TWO HUGE BUILDINGS with beautiful old pieces stacked high. It's a little piece of heaven if you ask me. Once I got this … [Read more...]

Arabesque Dresser

Color inspires me. I am oftentimes out and about and see a sign or object and its color strikes me. I think to myself I just have to paint in that color! It is weird and random and creatively wonderful. I think that is how my desire to paint in pink came about. I saw something that inspired me. I just had to paint something pink! Then....I had to find the right piece for it. It takes a … [Read more...]

Cute Luckett’s Green Chest

Hi guys! I have been muddling through trying to get into a new school routine since we began last Wednesday... and it is HARD! It takes such DISCIPLINE to do it well. Waking on time, making the bus, completing homework, getting dinner ready on time, and bedtime routines. Serenity NOW! I am sure it will get better, but it is a challenge right now. Blogging? Oh forget about it! I will get … [Read more...]

Tricycle Milk Painted Chest

She started a little like this... She was pretty cute with potential, but so dull. She needed some zip and some zing. She needed some RED. I used Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Tricycle on her base and refinished the top with a dark walnut stain. That oak grain was just too pretty to fully paint over. I left her wood knobs as they were...I like the tall oak chests with those rustic … [Read more...]
