Tall Chest in Typewriter

Hi friends! Happy Saturday to you! I am not really doing much blogging these days as we move in 30 days, but I wanted to pop in with a little furniture makeover for you. I cannot WAIT to get moved and back into some sort of normalcy I tell you! Packing and cleaning out is not too much fun. Plus...did I tell you that our new home has a large shed that I plan to make my workshop??? OH YEAH! I … [Read more...]

Rustic Boxwood Dresser Makeover

My friend was selling a dresser that she had never got around to refinishing. I was excited to check it out as buying pieces is a challenge as there are LOTS of people painting where I live...makes me crazy.  Her BEFORE picture wasn't so bad...she was super cute and would be lovely with a little TLC. I had a vision about what I wanted to do with her right way! I used Miss Mustard Seed's Milk … [Read more...]

Boxwood Buffet: Quite the Transformation

I was interested in this piece when I saw it posted on Craigslist, but I wasn't 100% sold for some reason. I didn't know why, but I was uncertain and thought it best to swing by and see it in person. I figured I could be convinced. When I went to see it, I was even less sure. I thought it was kinda ugly to be honest. The owner used a can of deep red spray paint on it and it was pretty … [Read more...]

Milk Paint Custom Mixed Cutie

If you recall, I posted a blog post about choosing paint colors two weeks back - more specifically if I should decide a color based upon what color I WANT to paint or to paint a piece a color that will sell easily (particularly white). Well...I decided it was more important to go with your vision and opt just to stick with my process of creativity that drew me to this business in the first place … [Read more...]

Desk Makeover in Custom Mix Milk-Paint

I thought this desk was pretty cute with that pretty rope detailing. She was pretty run of the mill ordinary, but I liked her. I thought she would be easy to pretty up. I mixed up a custom mix of Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Eulalie's Sky, Grainsack and a touch of Artissimo to make a gorgeous shade of soft blue. I used the Bonding Agent as well on this piece. I distressed it up a bit … [Read more...]

Flow Blue Beauty

I saw this dresser posted for sale and I messaged that seller just as fast as I could.| This one was just too cool to pass up. I loved the tier on the top with the two drawers and the shape of the piece. I picked it up the next day - I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! Upon further inspection, I noted that the wood was marked, dinged and full of character marks, but it was a solid … [Read more...]

Farmhouse Cabinet in Miss Mustard Seed’s Farmhouse White Milk Paint

I was pretty excited when I spotted this antique hutch for sale - she was perfectly lovely - pretty and with amazing character. I didn't hesitate in buying her at all - I figured I could worry about that missing glass in the door later. Her turned legs and carved details got me! I knew right away I wanted to paint her white- ironically since I just blogged about how to choose color for a piece … [Read more...]

Sweet Farmhouse White Dresser

I was so eager to get painting this adorable dresser up that I forgot to take a before picture! I am so sorry about that! I suppose it happens. Plus with my time being tied up with a part-time job other than painting I have to move FAST when I do have some spare time. Anyway, I found this sweet antique dresser on Craigslist. It was just my style. I was pretty happy when I messaged the seller … [Read more...]

Stately Secretary Desk Makeover

I put this project OFF for MONTHS. Big pieces always seem to get pushed off to the side. It's much more fun to work on pieces quickly and get immediate gratification because of the fast end result. So....there she sat pushed to the furthest back corner of my lonely garage. Waiting...waiting.... Finally after nearly a year, I got around to working on her. It was BEYOND time! I played with … [Read more...]

Kitchen Scale Dresser Makeover

I liked the look of this dresser when I saw it posted for sale. I thought I could pretty her up a bit. She certainly needed a makeover....and new knobs, too! She was a cool piece to makeover, too! She is quite the solid and sturdy old gal and I knew she was going to have a great chance at a second life :) I painted her with Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Kitchen Scale which is a fantastic … [Read more...]
