In The Works

I have so many pieces in my garage right now that it is insane. A few of them are custom orders like this amazing buffet... I am painting it as a gift for a gal. Makes you wanna have friends like that, right? I will be back this week with the full reveal :) Stay tuned... … [Read more...]

French Linen Beauty

This dresser caught my eye from the beginning. The mirror actually drew me in...it was so pretty and unique. Such a pretty piece! I had to have her :) She cost a little above the budget I was comfortable with, but I just couldn't resist! She was more worn and tired than the picture shows so I figured painting her up would make a world of difference. I think it was spot on! I used Annie … [Read more...]

Painting Day

I am happy to say that I had a full day of painting today. It was absolutely glorious. I haven't done that in weeks! I worked on quite a few pieces.... ...as well as a custom order. What a glorious day! I think my motivation and creative energy has finally returned :)     … [Read more...]

I don't know about you, but I have been struggling to get back into a groove since the Christmas break. My word. It is driving me nuts. I am far too task-oriented to be slowed down. I need to be productive ... check things off my list. Git 'R" done so to speak. This very gradual return to a routine and slacking motivation to paint is very frustrating. Coupled with the cold weather and … [Read more...]

White Empire Beauty

I was pretty excited when I saw this beautiful piece up for sale. I loved it! It had a presence. I loved the columns and scrolls and the amazing details. Sadly, those details were lost in the wood. I decided she needed to remain naturally pretty and uncomplicated so I decided to paint her with Miss Mustard Seed's Ironstone Milk Paint. I distressed her once I was done painting her and then … [Read more...]

My Current Project

It is late and I am beyond tired. My husband is getting up early to leave to run a half-marathon tomorrow. The girls and I are going to watch and plan to leave at 7 am. On Saturday morning. Yikes. I don't mind leaving at 6:30 am for yard sales, but that is because it is just me to worry about. No getting kids dresser and fed. Waking my girls at 6:30 am on a weekend is going to be a chore so … [Read more...]
