The end of the year was madness I tell ya! Custom order madness that is! I stopped taking custom orders in November as I was so backed up. It is easy to get backed up with customs as I have lots of requests coming in. I had to attempt to catch up and decided to stop taking any more orders to keep my sanity. Things were so busy in fact that I fell behind in blogging about them all so today’s post is an attempt to show you what I finished up and start the New Year FRESH! Here are the pieces that I finished up, but never was yet able to share with you…
My friend and hairdresser asked me to paint up a desk for her daughter for Christmas this year…she purchased this desk off of Craigslist and asked me to paint it in a pure white with pink knobs…I painted it in Du Jour by Valspar and distressed it. I spray painted the pulls and added some stinkin’ adorable pink glass knobs from D. Lawless Hardware. How cute did that desk come out? I LOVE it!!!
This is a dresser I decided to keep for myself…I was searching for a buffet piece for my living room for a media stand. I had always used an antique blanket chest for my tv, but I didn’t have any easily accessible storage with it sooooooooo I began to hunt for a piece to use that would offer storage. I found this beauty. I was thrilled with the shape of her…she was curvy and amazing, BUT I discovered upon pick up that she was a hot mess. The veneer on the drawer fronts was lifted and peeling…I have never seen an issue like that before.
I had to sand off the entire fronts of the drawers prior to painting so it was a bit of a pain, BUT the end result was worth it! I painted it in a combo of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White and Sherwin Williams Intellectual Grey.
This amazing antique beauty was one I found at a yard sale this summer…and I can tell you that such a fantastic find is RARE. I hardly ever find furniture at yard sales! When I spotted this, I threw on the brakes and all but ran to snag it.
This beauty was painted up in Annie Sloan’s French Linen with distressing…I love how it came out 🙂
This sweet birdeye maple was also a fantastic find – thank you Craigslist! I was thrilled that the seller lived just one mile from me.
The dresser was in amazing shape!!
I painted it in Miss Mustard Seed’s French Enamel with distressing and sealed it up in Miss Mustard Seed’s Hemp Oil.
She was a fun piece to redo!
She is now being used as a hairdressing station at a local hair salon…how cool is that???
This desk was finished up for a little girl’s birthday present just in the NICK of time before Christmas!
Olivia is a special little girl and her Mom and Dad asked me to find a sweet desk for her 10th birthday.
This desk was perfect for the joyous occasion!
I painted this sweet desk in Grey Wisp by Benjamin Moore.
It is such a lovely shade of a silvery blue-grey.
And last, but certainly not least, is this cute antique dresser with a mirror which I shopped for my client Meghan.
She was on the hunt for a great dresser for her adorable daughter…and I found this beauty.
I painted it up in Valspar’s Malted Milk and then distressed it. I tried my hand at some dark waxing of the entire dresser per my client’s request using Annie Sloan’s Dark Wax. I used the original hardware on the finished piece to maintain its authenticity.
I think it is adorable now!
Well….that was a whole lot of makeovers to catch up on!
I painted a lot of furniture this year…that is for sure!
Here’s to more furniture painting come the NEW YEAR!
Bring it on!!!
